    This is one of the most user unfriendly post offices that I have dealt with. I ship approximately $10-12 THOUSAND DOLLARS per year in packages. Occasionally, I have had to drop items in Bloomfield. I pay for my postage electronically. I often overpay on purpose so I can make sure that my customers receive their items without delay. I took 12 packages to Bloomfield today. The were accepted without question at the window. When I got home I had one returned for 2 TENTHS of one ounce difference. Bloomfield wanted their 17 cents before they would process it. I would like to know why these packages were not weighed while I was still at the counter. Why were they accepted while I was still there, and weighed after I left? If they wanted their 17 cents, they should have weighed these packages while I was still at the counter. Then, Bloomfield Post Office could have refunded me on the spot for any of the other 11 packages that I am certain were overpaid. I pay electronically to increase efficiency for the postal service and for my business. Quibbling over 17 cents for one package out the 10-12 THOUSAND DOLLARS that I pay every year in postage is not cost effective for USPS or for me. Most of the time I overpay, and I have no problem with that. From now on, when I know that I will need to leave packages with Bloomfield, I will make them weigh each and every one manually, and I will be sure that I DON'T OVERPAY!!!! My usual post office has no problem with electronic postage. I often bring in 20-30 packages each day and they are just happy that they don't have to manually process them. They also know that my overpayment definately outweighs any underpayment. We cooperate to increase efficiency for USPS and for me. Bloomfield Post Office acts as if I am trying to cheat them when, in fact, they were overpaid today for the other 11 packages. They only worried about the one out of twelve that was one tenth of one ounce short. The next time Bloomfield sees me, I WILL MAKE THEM PROCESS ALL OF MY PACKAGES MANUALLY. I apologize to any other postal customers that may be standing in line behind me. I wouldn't want to overpay by possible 17 cents. I hope those people standing in line behind me waiting for service understand that they are waiting so that Bloomfield Post Office will get their 17 cents.
